Catholics v. Presbyterians

I got the following off of MasterMedia.org. I thought it was funny, so I am sharing with you!

This is literally a 'church signs' debate, being played out in a Southern town, between the Catholic church and a (fundamentalist) Presbyterian church. From top to bottom shows you the response and counter-response over time.

The Catholics are displaying a much better sense of humor! You get the impression that the Presbyterians are actually taking this seriously!

I guess the churches face each other across a busy street.

a beautiful day at the park

My cold, or whatever I had this week, is finally abating - still not 100%, but definitely better. I was glad, then, that I was still able to watch Trey today. After Courtney came home, she convinced me to go along with her and Trey to East Lampeter Park since it was so nice outside (and since it won't be as nice the rest of the week). What fun! Trey is definitely at the age where he is mimicking EVERYTHING you say - and it just warms my heart when he uses my name! (as it does when the other 2 year olds I know say it, too!) I got permission to share the following pictures and short video with you.
In the video, Trey is climbing. The first time he did this (which had been about an hour before), I said, "Be careful, Trey" and "Don't fall, Trey." For all subsequent climbs (either there, or on any other equipment), he would say one of those two phrases. In the video, he is saying the latter. Towards the end he says something like, "Karla, tie shoes" because I had just tied his shoes before the climb. TOO FUNNY!

Anyway, I have posted 3 other times this week, so make sure you check them out below if you haven't already! :) Oh, and can anyone name the plant in the new header pic? It's from a tree in Courtney's front yard and we don't know what it is (it is a very white flower).

how well do you know my fave movies?

I saw this on a Facebook page and decided it looked like fun. I have used one of my most visited websites, IMDB, and my memory to come up with the following movie quotes. You need to guess what movie it's from (and if you are really good, the character and/or actor who said it). If you are correct, I will put the answer and your name at the end of the quote. DO NOT CHEAT and go onto IMDB yourself!!!! Most of them should be quite easy if you know me at all! :)

1. "You want something done, you've got to do it yourself!" (Mich, I thought this was appropriate, considering the cabin conversations!) :)

I am feeling old!

I haven't watched "ER" in years - not regularly since college (Krista, remember fighting the guys for the TV on Thurs. nights? I think your husband was the hardest to kick out of the living room!) - but I had to watch the series finale tonight.

I think I missed the series premiere, but I was a faithful viewer for years - and the old favorites came back for this last episode (well, Clooney & Margulies were a couple of weeks ago; I missed that episode). I think I even have a couple of episodes on VHS somewhere (like the epi where Dr. Greene died)

So, why did watching this make me feel old? Well, Dr. Greene's daughter came back, as a 22-year old who is going to med. school, and Dr. Benton's son, Reese, was also in this episode. I remember when Reese was born, and Rachel was a 4 year old (played by a different actress at that time)! I think it is neat when shows try to keep "real time" - even if they squish in as much drama as possible in that time.

Honestly, I don't think I have watched any NBC shows recently - horror of all horrors, I have even stopped watching Law & Order in recent years...too many cast changes. You know, there is a lot of talk about how network shows are faring, and there is always the tendency to reminisce about the "good ole' days", but I think everyone can agree that, at least NBC, was a LOT better back in the day.

Now, my most-viewed shows are from Fox, TNT, and BBC America. Yet, even that might be different. Mike and I are discussing getting rid of cable, so that will be a big change. It is amazing how much of our lives and our money is tied into TV/Cable. This post should be evidence of that! So, we are going to try to live without and see if we survive! :) He also wants to cut our Internet, but I am fighting to keep that - I am not ready to make that "sacrifice"!

As it is, he is still in Florida, I am still trying to recuperate from this cold and, so for now, everything stays as is.
